Welcome to Charlie's Lights. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our holiday lighting design, installation, maintenance, and related services. By requesting a quote, booking a service, or otherwise working with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Description of Services
Charlie's Lights provides professional holiday lighting services for residential, commercial, and community properties in our service area. Our services may include design consultation, installation, maintenance, takedown, and storage of lighting and decorations, as outlined in your specific agreement.
Service Agreement
Details about your project, including scope of work, pricing, materials, and schedule, will be described in a written quote or service agreement provided to you. Work will not begin until you approve the quote and, when applicable, pay any required deposit. Any changes requested after approval may affect pricing and scheduling.
Payment Terms
Payment terms, including deposit amounts and due dates, will be specified in your service agreement. Unless otherwise stated, deposits are due at the time of booking, and remaining balances are due upon completion of installation. Late or missed payments may delay service or result in additional fees as permitted by law.
Scheduling and Access
Installation and takedown dates will be scheduled based on availability, weather conditions, and access to your property. You agree to provide safe and reasonable access for our team, including access to electrical outlets as needed. Severe weather, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances may require us to adjust scheduled dates.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule your service, please contact us as soon as possible. Specific cancellation terms, including any applicable fees or non-refundable deposits, will be outlined in your service agreement. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule services for safety reasons, non-payment, or other significant issues.
Limitation of Liability
We take care to install lighting in a way that protects your property. However, we cannot be responsible for pre-existing conditions, improper electrical systems, or factors outside our control. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Charlie's Lights will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or related to our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Warranty
We stand behind our workmanship for the duration of the holiday season specified in your agreement. If you experience an issue with the installation, please contact us promptly so we can assess the situation and, if necessary, repair or replace affected components. Any warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, tampering, extreme weather, or factors outside our control.
Intellectual Property
All designs, layouts, and creative concepts produced by Charlie's Lights may remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing. You may not reproduce or commercially use our proprietary designs without our prior written consent.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, to the extent permitted by law.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, business practices, or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our services after any changes become effective means that you accept the updated Terms.
